Monica capably leads clients through negotiations, mediation and, when warranted, litigation, to resolve their family law matters.
With a wealth of experience gained from working alongside some of the best in the business in both Sydney and Canberra, Monica offers a comprehensive understanding of family law and adopts a bespoke approach with each client.
Specialising in complex financial cases—especially those with commercial or international elements—Monica brings expertise in drafting and negotiating binding financial agreements, including pre-nuptial, pre-separation, and post-separation agreements for married and de facto couples. Monica also has a proven record in complex parenting cases that involve serious allegations and findings of family violence, as well as adoption cases.
Monica's educational foundation includes a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, along with bachelor’s degrees in media and law from Macquarie University. This robust academic background complements Monica’s practical experience following admission to the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 24 August 2012 and the High Court of Australia on 26 September 2012.
Beyond family law practice, a commitment to community service underscores Monica's dedication highlighting a deep commitment to the profession and its ethical standards. Monica’s community service over the years includes the appointment by the ACT Chief Minister as a Council Member of the ACT LGBTIQ+ Ministerial Advisory Council, volunteering for over five years at the ACT Women’s Legal Centre, serving as a Committee Member for the NSW Family Law Sub-Committee, the ACT Family Law Committee, and as elected Vice-President of the ACT Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association.
